Let's walk through Majorca

History
Who we are

Change the way you travel

Pilgrimage is a tradition that exists in several religions. The pilgrim, unlike the tourist, travels above all to get to know himself; we could say that it travels inwards.

Along the way, he discovers places that become, for him, means of conversion. And he shares his experiences and his things with the other pilgrims.

spiritual Majorca

Spiritual Majorca has created this website with the intention of presenting a Majorca that goes beyond the sun and the beach. A Majorca where spirituality and heritage make up an extraordinary cultural landscape.

That is why we present Majorca peregrina as an emotional route that reaches the hearts and souls of Majorcans.

A special story

A journey through the pilgrim Majorca

What you may not have known about Majorca

We propose to recover one of the oldest reasons for travelling: pilgrimage. Majorca is the ideal place to do it.

Our passion

Passionate about Majorca

Perhaps someone will not believe it, but Majorca is an ideal place for the pilgrim. Because there is a deep tradition of pilgrimage. Especially in the sanctuary of Lluc, seat of the patron saint of the island and Marian place par excellence. But also to many other points. Majorca is teeming with living traditions, diverse nature, holy places, pilgrimages, pancharity,…

In Majorca you will find welcoming landscapes, unique temples and religious celebrations with a long tradition. If you search, you will discover a soul, a breath, something of which we are all part as human beings, fused in a natural and cultural environment of privilege.

"There is a sunrise and sunset every day, and they are absolutely free. Don't miss it."

Pilgrim. According to the diccionari.cat, this word comes from the Latin peregrinus and meant ‘foreigner, wanderer’. Drift from for and ager. Ager it meant ‘field’ (hence the word agrarian). Therefore, originally, a pilgrim would be someone who goes ‘through the ager‘, that is, ‘through the countryside’.

“By paths and streets / comellars and shortcuts / we have been coming to Sencelles for more than one hundred and fifty years.” Inscription embroidered on the altar cloths of the parish of Sencelles and placed on the second Sunday of May at the pilgrims’ mass celebrated on the occasion of the pilgrimage of Sister Francinaina Cirer, which goes from Casa Blanca to Sencelles.

“Come, my children, I will comfort you.” Phrase that appears on a tile outside the hermitage of Our Lady of Consolation of San Juan, and which also presents the image of the Virgin.

“Glorious Sant Marçal, free us from all evil”. Dedication to Sant Marçal, titular of the church of Sa Cabaneta, the most important in the municipality of Marratxí.

“For we receive so many favors / by your holy figure, / give us pure Virgin Luke, / that in heaven we enjoy You.” First stanza of the Joys to the Virgin of Lluc, from the eighteenth century and sung by the Escolania of the sanctuary.
