Sanctuary or destination point

The religious complex of Bonany's mount, located on the summit esplanade (317m), has its origin in a chapel documented in 1606. In 1697, the construction of a second temple began, which was demolished in 1919 to build the current church that imitates the Baroque style of the previous one. It has two bell towers, one on each side of the facade and a central rose window. It is made up of a single nave with a barrel vault, with a transept but without side chapels. According to a local legend, the Virgin Mary was found by a shepherd. Until 1990, there were hermits from the community of Saint Paul and Saint Anthony. Today, the sanctuary is managed by some donates and there is an inn with cells for pilgrims. On the eastern side there is a fountain, called the Virgin Mary.
