Pancaritat to the hermitage of the Mare de Déu des Puig (or Diada des Puig)

Pollença

Sanctuary or destination point

The hermitage of the Mare de Déu del Puig is documented in 1348. It then became a monastery in which, in 1351, a small community of Beguine nuns was already living as a hermit, initially led by Flor Ricomana. In 1461, it was occupied by about seventy people, including nuns and novices. The image of the Virgin was found by three women from Ca'n Sales, according to an ancient legend. The monastic complex has a lot of character and includes the Gothic chapel, the refectory, the defence tower and, today, also a restaurant and the inn, with 12 cells (971 18 41 32 and 971 53 50 77). From the top of Mary's mount, you can enjoy spectacular views of the town, the Cap de Formentor, the bay of Pollença and a large part of the Serra de Tramuntana.
